So I put a limit on the moves and some people didn't like it. It was not directed toward anyone, but just towards the fact that we are all good players and don't need more than a few transactions a week to prove it.
32 is 2 moves a week... Do you really need that many moves? I know injuries happen and bye weeks to but that is what your bench is for. The limit is designed yo help the league by not letting any one person hoard players on the bad spirits of the game. We only go 16 weeks from begining to championship. So half the league is clocking out on week 13 anyways. Let it be known that it is not a weekly limit either... So if you don't have any moves the first few weeks then that is more for the rest of the season.
As always, I am open so let me know what you think.

2009 Teams and # of moves
*1. Royalty 23 *2. THÖR'S HAMMER™ 32 *3. TJack36 51 *4. Neil ODonnell's Team 13 *5. Afternoon Delights 15 *6. megamagicman 25 7. BoilerTFU 18 8. 1st Bro then Ho! 17 9. Excellence 12 10. BIG RED 36 11. Juco Transfers 15 12. The Lovemakers 17
As you can see, I was right at the proposed limit of 32. I love grabbing, dropping and shuffling sleepers and the weekly new flavors. It's half the fun. But I draft for the season. Sure you have injuries and byes. Maybe a limit would help trades be more prevalent.
Even though I proposed it and think we should have a limit, I can roll either way.
PS: Good call Todd on the suggestion NOT to use weekly limits. Ryan caught that but I didn't think it through.
PSS: Ry, do you have access to the 2008 season? Lets see what the number of moves we had that year to get a better sampling. If so can you post link or graph here? ty

Here is the 2008 season:
There are more moves all around, but we had less starters as well.
Ok so 2008 we had more overall adds. We averages 30 adds as a league and 1/2 the league went over the proposed 32.
In 2009 the average was 22 adds and only two members went over the proposed limit.
I thought it would change my mind but I still think a limit would be more of a challenge.

was there a difference in roster space from 2008 to 2009? Because there were a lot more roster moves overall in 2008 compared to the 2009 fantasy football season.

Yes there is a diffeence... In 2008 we started 10 and had a bench of 6, and last year we started 11 and had a bench of 7.
This year we are staring 11 and having a bench of 6.
Our amount of starters are alot compared to most leagues...there will be hypothetically be 12 more people always on the waiver wire with me getting rid of one of our spots but that again makes who you keep and pick up more important.
Makes you stop thinkng about things too much and going with your gut.
We are all very skilled players and trust that a limit will not make or break anyone.

Looks like the limit is going to stay. Should be fun still, but just with a little extra challenge.

Well Jordan it makes it a little harder but that shouldn't be that bad for a guy or gal that knows their stuff. It makes trades more relevant and important. The only problem with that is that you have got to stop sending one sided trades.

I don't care about the trades I care about the waiver wire. It's a crucial part of fantasy football and the only reason you're doing it is because you think "people are going to hoard players" then at draft day you said there wasn't anybody in our league that would do that. It makes no sense. I don't get how "knowing your stuff" translates to limited roster moves. If you "know your stuff" then you would pick up players on the rise that are on waivers. Trades will always be relevant and important if there's a limit on them or not. How about next year we just do 0 roster moves. The team you drafted is all you need right?

You're taking it too personal Jordan. Everyone but 2 people don't mind it. You're the only one that is vocal about it.
It is true that I don't honk anyone here would hoard players, but the limit still makes you think about adding players. It makes your moves more important. 32 moves were allowed from draft to the ff super bowl. That is 18 weeks, which is almost 2 a week, and that is assuming you are in the superbowl. For half the league it 2 moves a week.
Fantasy footba is about drafting, adding waivers and free agents, and trading to get the best team. Just don't pick up any hunch, and decide who you really want to use your limited pickups on.

how can I not take it personal since I'm the only one this rule is aimed at? You've said it multiple times that "only one person went past 32 moves last season" well that one person was me. If you guys want a personal challenge of not making a certain amount of moves then go ahead, but I don't see why I have to be involved with it.

Jordan you sound like a chick. stop moaning. (no offense to the chicks)
This is a democratic league. The vote was cast. The end.
We wanted to try something new. Give it a chance. It should make it more challenging. If we don't like it, next year we can do away with it.
more challenging to who? I'm the only one that went past the 32 moves. This rule is obviously directed towards me and that's why I have the biggest voice about it Ryan. It's 100% bullshit.
